About Us

By the year 2000 our family began an incursion in the art of weaving.

After discovering a rudimentary loom that an old aunt had abandoned in her house, we began to clean and repair its dusty old structure. This loom was handmade, probably using crude tools, but the quality of the work along with the selection of fine materials used in its construction made this artifact a piece of art.

Seeing the loom in its renewed conditions, our aunt started to remember old techniques and tricks she used to master. Adrianne was an artist, the prodigy of designs that started to come out from her hands and the laboriously repaired loom were incredible.

It did not take very long for us to learn and fall in love with an art so simple and so rewarding at the same time. The idea of sharing our experience with family and friends took shape quickly. One single problem, there were not enough looms for all of us.

An affordable and practical loom was needed, and we were going to build it. Among the many alternatives, we decided that the Rigid Heddle Loom was the option to choose. The construction of our loom (same as our aunt's loom) would use a combination of strong and fine materials and it should last for generations. Even abandoned and covered with dust, there will be always somebody who will clean and put it back to work.

ArteLoom strongly believe we have fulfilled our dream, building a product of exellence that has been made to last while also incorporating innovative features to facilitate its use by our customers.

The appreciation of this mission by our customers is our reward and motivation.
